This replica (built by Lewis Morley) was used in the "Mitsubishi
Starwagon" TV commercial along with print ads in Australia. This was the first
LIS Robot replica to be built in Australia! This replica was refinished
and completed to include the leg and tread sections after the TV
                 commercial was made.

Ever since I was a boy of 5 years old, I used to rush home from school
in time to watch my hero in my favorite TV show, Lost in Space. The
Robot was always the main character to me and he dominated and, indeed,
made the show. The Robot was so convincingly portrayed and operated,
for many years I was positive that he was real! (that is, there
                 was no-one inside).

Unlike Robby the Robot who starred in 2 episodes of LIS as the Robotoid,
Robot model B9 travelled on motorized tracks making him far more
realistic than his 2-legged foe, the evil black Robotoid!

My childhood dream was to actually swap places with Will Robinson and
have the LIS Robot with me. My dream finally came true in 1992 when I
seized the opportunity of acquiring a full-size replica of the LIS
Robot that I saw on the TV commercial.

I may have had to wait 25 years but it was worth the wait!
Having now retired from his advertising duties, the Robot now resides
in my livingroom beneath a photo of the original.
