Original Latex Rubber Legs

This pair of original, latex rubber legs was taken directly off the "hero" Robot prop/costume. These legs were designed by Robert Kinoshita and built by craftsmen at 20th Century Fox Studios in LA during the summer of 1966.

Following the cancellation of Lost in Space in 1968, the Robot made occasional appearances at charity benefits and promotional engagements. In the early 1970's, the Robot was extensively redesigned for a short-lived Saturday morning children's series entitled, "Mystery Island". Following the demise of this show, the Robot languished in storage until the late 1980's.

In 1990, 20th Century Fox TV executive Kevin Burns rescued the Robot from scheduled destruction and set about to find the original parts, molds and blueprints. During the next 10 years Burns, along with other well respected prop builders and robot experts, restored the Robot. It made several promotional appearances.

These legs were removed during a restoration. They are believed to be one of only two pair known to exist, the other being the "Bermuda" version. These legs were acquired directly from Kevin Burns.
